Kontane Logistics – Statesville NC
A custom three sail shade structure by Carolina Shade Sails was installed at Kontane Logistics in late March. Carolina Shade sails along with the building engineer, David Walker of Walker Engineering, worked closely to design a shade structure that uses the building as support along with the three 12″ steel columns. The tension membrane structure uses HDPE shade cloth to block the sun and cool the temperature underneath by up to 20 degrees. The employee break room, just inside the glass doors, also benefits from the cooler temperature the shade sails offer.
The 3-sail design adds architectural interest to the building entrance and provides a inviting area for employees to take a break. Kontane is excited about their new addition and looks forward to a beautiful & cool summer!
